Full-Time Driver

FT Route Driver

Safely operate Food Bank vehicles in several capacities. Route driving for pickup and delivery of Food Bank products. Some Mobile Pantry operations as needed. When not operating one of the Food Bank trucks, this person will assist in the Distribution Center with food handling operations of the Food Bank.

1) Pick up food collected from donor companies or food drives in a safe, courteous and sanitary manner.
2) Deliver Food Bank food to agencies in Lincoln, and our Southeast Nebraska service area.
3) Deliver food to Neighborhood FOOD Program sites, and assist the distribution of that product to clients.
4) Load and unload product at agencies, and at the Food Bank.
5) Support Distribution Center practices by safely loading, inventorying and storing Food Bank product using forklifts, and floor jacks.
6) Cross train in other Distribution Center disciplines as needed.
7) Participate in the ongoing cleaning and maintenance of Food Bank vehicles and equipment.
8) Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
a) Must have Nebraska Class B CDL.
b) Must be insurable.
c) High interest in excellent customer service.
d) Warehouse and food handling experience helpful.
e) Basic computer skills a must.
f) Ability to safely operate a forklift and electric lift jack, and all other Distribution Center equipment.
g) Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
h) Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
i) Hiring dependent upon successful completion of Pre-Employment screening by Company Care.

Child Hunger Coordinator – Full Time

Child Hunger Coordinator

To provide oversight of the Food Bank Child Hunger Programs.

1. Communicate with all partner schools on a regular basis regarding the operation of the program
2. Assist in the design of menus for the BackPack Program and Food Markets.
3. Oversee the purchasing of the Child Hunger Programs food along with the Inventory Control Director.
4. Create packing and distribution calendars for the program.
5. Work in conjunction with the Operations Team to assist in the distribution of the backpack sacks on a weekly basis as well as the Food Markets.
6. Build relationships with the VOICE Program students and educators.
7. Oversee the School Coordinators community volunteer force which links the partner schools with the Food Bank.
8. Oversight in the maintenance of the LPS Emergency Pantry operation.
9. Work with satellite packing operations to maintain contact, delivery schedules, standards and engagement.
10. Conduct annual site visits to satellite packing sites.
11. Weekly BackPack and Food Market distribution site visits.
12. Coordinate a summer BackPack Program and Food Market.
13. Promote the program in the Food Bank service area through
speaking engagements.
14. Represent the program in the community in conjunction with the Executive Director.
15. Be an advocate for our Child Hunger Programs families and partner schools. 16. Other Duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
1. A valid Nebraska Driver’s license
2. A college degree preferred, but not required
3. Ability to communicate with diverse groups
4. Computer skills
5. Demonstrated follow through
6. Good organizational skills a must
7. Self-motivation a must

Fact: In 2012, the Food Bank of Lincoln was able to distribute 7,493,148 meals at a cost of $.33 per pound. A $10 contribution can be used to provide approximately 25 meals for those in need.
