Another Big Vote Wednesday...

4/12/2016

Wednesday is going to be another big vote on LB 947 -- the bill that would let hard-working young immigrant Nebraskans obtain their professional licenses so they can fully contribute their skills and talents to their home state.
LB 947 is scheduled to be on Final Reading tomorrow, so we’re asking you to contact State Senator Roy Baker today!
Please urge them to vote “Yes” on LB 947 so ambitious young Nebraskans like Valeria and Armando can use their schooling and hard work to give back to their communities.
You can call the office of Sen. Baker at 402-471-2620 or email rbaker@leg.ne.gov.
Every Nebraska community needs smart, passionate people to become the next generation of emergency medical technicians, social workers, teachers, and many other positions that require a professional license. LB 947 would let more young Nebraskans who grew up here contribute their skills to move our economies forward.
LB 947 has received tremendous support from Nebraska business, faith, and community leaders across the state. The Lincoln Journal Star editorial board recently said LB 947 “would reward exactly the sort of ambitious young people that Nebraska needs to grow its economy,” and Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert has publicly urged the Legislature to pass this bill.
Now, LB 947 is one vote shy of going to Governor Ricketts’ desk. Please act today!
